Liam is born in Galway, Ireland.

At the age of 5 he falls into a pond.

Liam starts school. The stories about the biblical city of Sodom make a deep impression on him.

Liam begins to take an interest in girls.

During these years, much to his father’s dismay, he leads a dissolute life. Hardly an evening passes without him staggering drunk out of the tavern or having an affair with a girl of easy virtue.

Angelus is captured and tortured in Rome by Holtz and his accomplices. With Darla’s help, however, Angelus manages to escape.

Holtz is visited by the time-travelling demon Sahjhan, who offers him a way to take revenge on Angelus after all. He seals Holtz in a block of stone, in which he sleeps for the next two centuries.

In view of the chaos and horror he spreads everywhere, Angelus is given the epithet “the Scourge of Europe”.

In 1786 Angelus turns Penn into a vampire and finds in him a very eager pupil who tries to imitate, or even surpass, him in everything. Angelus marks his victims by carving a Christian cross into their left cheek.

On his way to Vienna, Angelus passes through Prussia, where he encounters the Beast. Apparently he is travelling alone.

Darla gives Angelus a special birthday present – a young Romani girl. As punishment for her death, the Kalderash clan curses Angelus and gives him back his soul. He is to suffer for all eternity from the guilt he will feel for his countless crimes from now on. The curse will only be broken if he experiences a moment of perfect happiness. When Darla notices that Angelus has a soul again, she casts him out.

During the Boxer Rebellion in China, Angelus attempts a comeback. Darla almost believes him, but when he is unable to kill a baby, she rejects him again.

Spike kills the Slayer of the time, a Chinese woman.

Angelus decides to emigrate to America and calls himself Angel from then on. He feeds on rats.

Spike is captured by the Nazis in Madrid under the pretext of a “free virgin blood party”; they (want to) carry out scientific experiments on vampires. Angel lives in New York and is forced by American intelligence to free a hijacked Nazi submarine on which terrible incidents have occurred. Spike and two other vampires (Nostroyev and the Prince of Lies) are responsible for these “incidents” – that is, the decimation of the crew.

Angel is still living in New York. He witnesses a robbery in which the cashier of a café is killed, and drinks from a human for the first time again (even if a dead one).

Angel still lives in New York. Since drinking from the dead cashier (around 1974) he has fed only on animal blood.

When Buffy moves to Sunnydale, he follows her. They fall in love. When Darla tries to kill Buffy, Angel destroys his long-time companion.
Chapter 2The series years 1997–2004Sunnydale and Los Angeles on TV- Early 1997Angel’s life
Angel meets the demon Whistler, who shows him the current Slayer, Buffy Summers. He falls in love with her at once and decides to make something of his life again. Angel follows Buffy to Sunnydale. Darla is in Sunnydale with the Master. Angel kills Darla.

The Master is destroyed by Buffy shortly after he has freed himself.
- Late 1997Angel’s life
Drusilla and Spike move to Sunnydale.
- Early 1998Angel’s life
Angel spends a night with Buffy, which leads to a moment of perfect happiness. He becomes Angelus again and joins Spike and Drusilla.
- Mid 1998Angel’s life
Angelus terrorises Buffy and her friends and finally wants to destroy mankind with the help of the demon Acathla. Buffy sends him to hell just as her friend Willow manages to restore Angel’s soul. Spike and Drusilla leave Sunnydale and go to South America.
- Late 1998Angel’s life
Angel spends at least 100 years in a hell dimension where time passes differently than on Earth. In Earth time he is only gone for a few months. He finally returns from the hell dimension naked and completely confused. Buffy finds him and nurses him until he is his old self again. The attempt to revive their relationship fails. Spike returns briefly to Sunnydale but leaves again at once.

After helping to save Sunnydale from certain destruction, Angel leaves Buffy and the town and moves to L.A., where he helps the helpless on his own. He meets the half-demon Doyle and works with him from then on. Doyle’s visions, sent to him by the Powers That Be, make his work enormously easier. At a party he meets Cordelia, who is trying without success to make it as an actress. Cordelia joins the team – “Angel Investigations” is born. This year Angel first encounters the law firm Wolfram & Hart. On a mission Doyle dies a hero’s death, just as a relationship with Cordelia is beginning.
- Late 1999Angel’s life
Spike reappears in Sunnydale and pays a short visit to L.A. The Initiative implants a chip in Spike’s brain that makes it impossible for him to harm humans. Angel pays a short visit to Sunnydale.
- Early 2000Angel’s life
Penn is eliminated in L.A. Through contact with a demon’s blood, Angel becomes an ordinary human. He spends an unforgettable day with Buffy before asking the Powers That Be to turn back time by one day and undo everything. Afterwards only he can remember this one special day. Wesley and Gunn join the team. Through Wesley, Angel meets the demon Lorne, who runs a karaoke bar and can read people’s minds when they sing.

Wolfram & Hart bring Darla back to life. Drusilla turns Darla back into a vampire. Together with Drusilla she leaves a trail of destruction through L.A. To keep his friends out of the line of fire while he hunts the two vampire ladies, Angel fires them.
- Early 2001Angel’s life
Drusilla pays a visit to Sunnydale. After Darla and Drusilla are defeated, Angel returns remorsefully to Wesley, Gunn and Cordelia and works for them from then on. A night together leads to Darla leaving the city pregnant. The friends rescue Fred from Lorne’s home world Pylea, where Cordelia briefly gets to be queen. Fred becomes a full member of the team. Cordelia’s visions threaten to kill her. To save her life, the Powers That Be make her a half-demon.
- Mid 2001Angel’s life
Angel kills Elisabeth and James in L.A. Spike begins an affair with Buffy. A heavily pregnant Darla visits a shaman in Honduras and tries to abort her unborn child. When this fails, she returns to L.A. and seeks out the child’s father: Angel. Darla kills herself so that her child can live. Angel takes Connor in.
- Early 2002Angel’s life
The vampire hunter Holtz, Angelus’ enemy from the old days, suddenly turns up in L.A. He kidnaps Angel and Darla’s son Connor and flees with him into a hell dimension.
- Mid 2002Angel’s life
Connor returns as a teenager and sinks Angel in an iron box to the bottom of the sea. Wesley frees him a few months later.
- Early 2003Angel’s life
To defeat the Beast (see 1789), Angel agrees to have his soul removed. Angelus returns. Two months later Angel gets his soul back thanks to Willow’s help.
- Mid 2003Angel’s life
Angel and his team make a deal with Wolfram & Hart and take over the firm’s Los Angeles branch. Spike supports Buffy in her fight against the First Evil. With a mysterious amulet that Angel brought to Sunnydale, he manages to destroy the Turok-Han and close the Hellmouth there. In doing so, however, he loses his unlife.
- Late 2003Angel’s life
Angel receives a package in the mail containing the amulet. It activates – and out comes Spike. As a kind of ghost.
- Early 2004Angel’s life
Harmony becomes Angel’s new secretary.
- Mid 2004Angel’s life
Fred is infected with an incurable virus that turns her into the demon Illyria.
- Late 2004Angel’s life
Angel risks the lives of his whole crew to weaken the Senior Partners. To do so, they wipe out all members of the Circle of the Black Thorn. Wesley loses his life. Lorne shoots Lindsey, and all those left face the onslaught from the hell dimension. The gate to hell has been opened… The story continues in comic form from IDW.
