Plot
The show begins in a police interrogation room. Two cops are talking about a guy with mental problems and how he is covering up information. The go into the room with where there is an unknown man sitting with his head against the table. The men question and threaten the man, who raises his head, revealing himself to be Wesley. Wesley begins babbling about warnings and how “he” should have never have been there. Wesley talks about “him” grabbing “her” hard and how “it all went horribly wrong.” In his mind, he sees Angel dropping a woman to the ground with blood on his lips. Wesley begins to tell the story of what happened to the cops. He begins with a flash back to when he first noticed Cordelia’s new haircut. Wesley and Cordelia talk about how all Angel does anymore is brood about Darla. Cordelia explains that Angel has gone with Gunn to try and help out Gunn’s cousin who has gotten into some trouble. Wesley then invites Cordelia to go with him to some kind of celebrity event. Gunn and Angel talk with the cousin, Lester. They find out that a group is planning on robbing a museum of some kind of supernatural artifact. The group is bringing in a vampire from Vegas named J. Don. Gunn promises to get him out of trouble. Angel tells Gunn that he is taking over the case because it is too dangerous. They argue, but Angel is firm about his decision. When Angel returns, he finds Kate in his room. She is looking for Darla in connection with a murder. Angel tells Kate that she doesn’t know what she is getting into and that if she gets between him and Darla, it will be the last thing she ever does. Cordelia and Wesley return from the event because he has spilled cocktail sauce on her. Angel tells him of his plan to replace J. Don and they are excited he is on a case. Wesley points out that J. Don is loud and flashy and both he and Cordelia doubt Angel’s ability to pull it off. Angel meets J. Don at the bus station, acts like a moronic fan, and stakes him. Another demon guy named M. James Menlow shows up looking for J. Don. Angel takes his place and acts loud of flashy. Menlow and Angel meet up with the rest of the crew, which includes a human security guard, Bob, and some ugly demon. Gunn then shows up in his cousin’s place. Menlow explains that they are going to steal the Shroud of Rahmon, an item worth 2 million on the black market and explains the plan. Gunn and Angel argue and Angel tries to get him out of there. Menlow announces that the heist is happening tonight. Wesley and Cordelia discover online where the Shroud of Rahmon is being kept. The crew shows up to the museum in a truck. Bob lets them in and takes them up the elevator. Angel stops the demon guy from killing another security guard. A picture of Angel with Menlow somehow turns up at the police station. A cop shows it to Kate and tips her off to the location. The crew manages to blow open the safe holding the shroud with nitrogen. Wesley finds out in a book that the shroud drives people insane. Wesley and Cordelia decide to go warn Angel at the museum in case the heist was taking place tonight. Angel disarms the heat sensitive alarm inside the vault with the shroud. While in the vault, he starts to lose some control/sanity and starts to get his vampire face. Gunn notices it and is concerned. Wesley and Cordelia show up and start feeling weird as soon as they walk into the museum. They split up after planning not to. All of the thieves argue while they are carrying out the big crate holding the shroud. Gunn challenges Angel and they fight, breaking the crate in the process. This releases some purple kind of gas from the crate. Gunn and Angel fight but have a moment of clarity. Bob gets tied up but begs someone to hit him so it “looks real.” The big demon rips Bob’s head off. Kate runs into Wesley who is acting loony. He tells her about needing to warn Angel but can’t concentrate. Kate starts to feel it too. Cordelia is seen acting goofy and steals some jewelry from a mannequin. While the crew is carrying the crate, Menlow goes crazy about leaving fingerprints and starts trying to wipe them off the walls. Angel and Gunn argue again. Wesley shows up and tries to remember the message to tell Angel. Kate shows up and points a gun at Angel. Angel manages to talk his way close to her. He grabs her, bites her, and then drops her to the floor, apparently leaving her dead. A SWAT team arrives at the scene. They find Wesley kneeling over Kate’s body, begging her to wake up. He is dragged away. The crew makes it back to the hideout with the shroud. They take the shroud out of the crate and start to fight over it. The big demon gets shot in the head and Angel and Gunn fight over the shroud. Angel, in a moment of clarity, convinces Gunn to let him have it. He takes it outside and burns it. Back in the present time, Wesley finishes telling his tale to the police who do not believe him. They start to arrest him when Kate shows up and makes them let him go. Kate is seen looking out of the window with a big bite mark on her neck. She thinks back to when Angel was biting her. It turns out that he had leaned close to her and whispered, “stay down or they’ll kill you.” Wesley and Cordelia are back at the office. They discuss their concerns about the possibility that since Angel drank human blood from a living person that his bloodlust may have been reawakened. The final scene is of Angel sitting in his room. He is thinking about the moment he drank Kate’s blood.
Dialogue

What happened to your hair?

Excuse me?

Your hair. It's new...it's great! When did this happen?

Ten days ago.

Of course! I didn't want to embarrass you by...

...noticing?

Au contraire. His day is packed. Brood about Darla. Brood about Darla. Lunch! Followed by a little Darla brooding.

Right. Enough is enough. I'm gonna march up there and tell him just that…

Nice posturing!

Thank you!

Uh-huh, time to traipse off to your shallow, soul-sucking Hollywood party?

Premier, actually. And I happen to have an extra ticket...

Who does shallow better than me?

And what am I supposed to do? Sit home and knit?

I could use a sweater. Something dark.
Maybe not. I don't suppose you'd testify against her in a blindingly sunny court of law?

What happened?

It's not blood it's cocktail sauce, courtesy of Mr. Star-schmoozer here.

I mean to your head. Your - your hair. It looks great. When did this happen?

Ten days ago! Pay attention.

Why doesn't anybody tell me any of this stuff...

I spilled it on her in front of Mr. Fat Chow…Chow...

Chow Yun Fat!

What, you met Chow Yun Fat?!

Hmm...

What?

Oh, I-I'm sure you can pull it off. You're…colorful.

Whoa, whoa, we need to talk, bro. Two things bringin' in the chicks: the do and the ride.
Get in.

I hope I don't see anybody I know.

Don't tell me you must be Bob, the security guard. And you're a great big…monster, aren't you?
This is Jay-don. He talks too much.

I'm a people person. I like the shirt. Where'd you get that, at Ed's big and spiny?
He's funny. You're funny. You'll be even funnier when I crush your head.

Funny 'ha, ha' or funny peculiar?

Depends. Do we all got to wear these ugly ass shirts? Is this, you know, a team thing? Because, you know, I got my pride.
Any change in temperature will set off the alarm.

Guess that's where I come in, huh?

Oh, no body heat. I guess that comes with the no soul thing, huh?

I got it! Jeez, back seat surfer!

Okay. Two words I don't like right off the bat: tomb and unearthed. People, you've got to leave your tombs earthed!

Shroud of Rahmon. Have you ever heard of it?

I'm not big on shrouds. They're an after-you-die outfit.

Why is it always virgin women who have to do the sacrificing?

For purity, I suppose.

This has nothing to do with purity. This is all about dominance, buddy. You can bet if someone ordered a male body part for religious sacrifice the world would be atheist like that.

I get the picture. - So in order to take his mind off the torment that is Darla, we sent Angel after a box that makes you crazy.
Humans always got to feel something about everything. And they always got to tell you about it. 'I'm so happy - I'm so sad - I'm so scared.' Makes me sick.

Oh, now, I like it when they're scared! Makes them taste kind of salty.
Did I ask for your opinion, you overgrown leech?

Oh, please! Altoids, aisle 4!

When are they gonna start making some pretty demons?

Shut up and lift, Lester!

Don't give me orders, Elvis!

You know I'm getting pretty tired of this 'vampires killed my sister so now I'm all entitled' song. Don't you know anything else, like say MacArthur Park?

Is that Gunn? What's he doing here? I never thought of him as the museum type.

Wow! Look at you rushing in here all by yourself! You're the best cop ever.
Too many humans.

Excuse me, that is my girl.

Oh Katie - what are you so afraid of? Is it this? Is it the part where I'm gonna kill you? Because I got to tell you I love that in a woman!

Angel drank human blood, from a living person. Something he hasn't done in a very long time.

So, on top of everything else we may have reawakened his bloodlust?

Yes.

Hmm. Full day's work then.

I think so.
