Plot

In Wesley’s office, Wesley stares at his translation of the Nyazian scrolls, which reads "The Father Will Kill The Son." In Connor’s bassinet, Connor is crying, and Angel shows Wesley how to calm a baby. Angel and Wesley speak briefly of the recent earthquake, and the damage caused to the Hotel. In the garden, a blonde lady is singing for Lorne. Angel reveals that she is a client. Fred and Gunn arrive, talking romantically to each other on their cell-phones. Wesley surreptitiously asks Angel if Wesley can take Connor to the beach in the next day or two. Lorne calls Team Angel out into the garden. The client named Kim starts singing again, only to have her face morph into a demonic face and slime ooze out of her mouth.

Lorne reveals that years ago, he told Kim to become a singer instead of a doctor. Kim explains that since she joined a new band, herself and her band members have been turning into demons. Wesley explains that Kim has been infected by the demon band members, but Kim can be cured. Fred explains that the band members are Wraithers, who can look human for half a month before reverting to demons. Kim tells them where the Wraithers are. Fred suggests calling Cordy and Groo, and Angel says no.

At Holtz’ HQ, Justine is training men with chained up vampires. Holtz asks Justine if she’s ready to act on Team Angel. Justine voices her concern over the safety of Team Angel. Wesley arrives, and Holtz realises that Wesley is about to make a difficult decision.

At the Wraithers rehearsal space, Angel, Fred, and Gunn break in to find the band rehearsing. Fred helps the punk girl groupies escape, while Gunn tries to shoot the Wraithers. Angel vamps and gets in the way by attacking all three Wraithers at once. Angel, overly aggressive, destroys the Wraithers.

At Holtz’ HQ, Wesley explains that he doesn’t want Team Angel or Holtz’ men to get hurt. Justine holds a knife against Wesley, and Holtz reveals that Justine lost her twin sister Julia. Wesley disarms Justine with ease, holding her from behind at knife-point. Holtz explains that Angel is going to kill Connor, unless either Holtz or Wesley stop Angel. Holtz offers one day for Wesley to save Connor, before Holtz does.

Lorne is taking care of Connor when Angel, Fred, and Gunn return to the Hotel. Angel acts aggressively towards his infant son, while chugging back glasses of blood. Eventually, Angel throws the glass at the wall, before realising something’s wrong.

Angel notes that his blood has been tasting differently lately, and Lorne suggests the blood has been spiked. Fred wants to find out.

Wesley is walking down a residential neighbourhood, and realizes Justine is following him. Wesley suggests that Holtz would kill anyone to reap his vengeance on Angel. Justine notes that Wesley is about to betray his friend, and Wesley leaves. Holtz appears, and was following Justine without her knowledge.

At the Hotel, Fred analyses the blood, while Angel realizes that Connor’s blood is mixed in with the pig’s blood. Angel surmises that it must be the work of Wolfram & Hart.

Lilah is drinking at a bar, and Angel arrives. Angel asks Lilah why she spiked his blood, and joins her for a drink. Sahjhan arrives, and gets angry with Lilah. Angel surmises that Sahjan is Angel’s sworn enemy, a time-travelling demon, who is working with Lilah, and brought Holtz back. Sahjhan disappears.

Wesley arrives at the Hotel, and tries to take Connor away when Lorne arrives. Wesley accidentally lets Lorne read his intentions, and Wesley attacks Lorne. Lorne is knocked unconscious, and when Wesley tries to take Connor, Angel arrives. Fred and Gunn arrive, and Wesley leaves with Connor. Angel, Fred and Gunn hear Lorne inside the office, but before they can examine, Holtz arrives with his men.

Angel and Holtz talk, while one of Holtz’ men reveal that Connor is already gone. Holtz’ men attack, and Team Angel fight back. Lorne wakes up, and takes out Holtz’ men by screaming. Holtz leaves. Lorne reveals that Wesley has seen Holtz behind their backs, and has taken Connor away for good.

Wesley is carrying Connor and a suitcase out of his apartment and into his truck. An injured woman stumbles across a darkened park, moaning at Wesley. Wesley aims a gun at the woman, who is apparently Justine. Justine explains that Holtz attacked her. Wesley tries to help Justine, but she pulls a knife and slits Wesley’s throat. Justine grabs Connor and steals Wesley’s car, leaving Wesley bleeding alone in the park.

At the Hotel, Fred fails to reach Wesley through the phones. Angel gets mad that Wesley stole Connor, and starts asking Holtz’ men where Holtz is. After Holtz’ men reveal where Holtz’ HQ is, Angel leaves. Fred and Gunn, anxious to find Wesley before Angel, decide to look for Wesley at his apartment.

Several military vehicles are outside Holtz’ HQ, when Lilah arrives. A commander explains to Lilah that Holtz left, without Connor, who was gone already. After receiving a transmission, the Wolfram & Hart paramilitaries and Lilah leave, tracking Holtz. Angel arrives and steals one of the W&H vehicles, follows them after Holtz.

Holtz jumps into Wesley’s truck, containing both Connor and Justine. Holtz’ plan is to take Connor to Utah and raise him as the offspring of Holtz and Justine. Several military vehicles arrive, and both Angel and Holtz exit their individual vehicles. Justine tackles Angel while Holtz threatens Connor’s life. Angel and the W&H paramilitaries stop. Sahjhan arrives, and tells Lilah to kill Connor, which Lilah refuses. Angel grabs a gun and threatens to kill Lilah. Holtz tells Angel that Connor can be killed or taken away with Holtz, and Angel resentfully accepts. Sahjhan rips open a hole in reality into the Quor'toth, and threatens to suck everybody involved in if somebody doesn’t kill Connor. Holtz charges into the rip, with Connor in his arms. Angel tries to follow, but a lightning bolt throws him away. Sahjhan removes the tear, and the Quor'toth disappears. Lilah, Justine, and the W&H paramilitaries leave. Angel is left alone, on the ground, calling out for his departed son.
